Aren’t Dead Laptops fun?

by Brad Isaac on September 13, 2005

My laptop developed a clicking hard drive issue the other day. I knew what that meant…hard drive is quickly dying. Yuck! I tried backing up the data on the hard-drive to the built in CD burner, but it didn’t go as planned. 4 CDs later and only 1/3 into the backup, I cancelled the backup and chucked the CDs into the trash.

Tried copying to my networked computer…no dice! It was going to take 10 hours or so.

I decided just to start over. Luckily, I did have a 3.5HD mounting kit, that I forgot about. so I was able to move the data I wanted to an SD card and move it to the newly formatted and installed hard drive.

It appears I am back on track for now. :)
