New eBay Password scam

by Brad Isaac on January 27, 2006

There’s a new Password phishing scam out there you should keep your eyes out for.  I haven’t placed an ebay auction for many months now, yet I have been getting "Question from an eBay Member" emails nearly daily.  The messages are like the other scams out there where they send you to a hoax site where they hope you will type in your username and password.

This one seems insidiously clever because the timing of one of these messages asking "Do you take Paypal?"  or "Can you ship to Canada?" would likely take an active eBay member by surprise.  Habitually, you’d likely click on the link and log in.

Keep your eyes peeled for it.
