Productivity Tips for Geeks
Posted under ProductivityRaible Designs has posted a thorough list of productivity tips for programmers and systems people. Most of them make sense, but I have to disagree with the idea that if you are unhappy with your work for more than 2 weeks you should quit. In any exciting business or promotion there will easily be 2 weeks where you’ll be unhappy. There are new stressers in growth, there are sometimes employees you have to lay off or fire, there can be consultants on site who make you want to pull your hair out. Two weeks of bad feelings is too short of a time to make a rational decision about the direction of your career. Let things settle down before jumping ship.
Otherwise, it’s a very good read…
Every so often, I get asked what my strategy is for "getting things
done". This morning, I had a short session of mass productivity, and on
my ride into work, got inspired to jot down a few tips productivity
tips. Keep in mind that I grew up in the back woods of Montana with no electricity and I’m mostly Irish.
