Goals Require Boldness

by Brad Isaac on May 16, 2006

Prepare yourself.

Big goals require boldness to persist even when it feels the world is against you. Big goals require courage to face criticism and negativity and then move forward anyway…even if you are scared.

If you are doing something new or something that hasn’t been done before the world will be against you – until you do it. If it hasn’t been done before, others will see it as impossible. Being bold means you will not allow your vision to be replaced with the short-sighted fear of others.

Here’s how to make boldness easier.

Choose goals you believe are right and consistent with who you are as a person. Get rid of goals that violate your sense of right and wrong.

When the chips are down and you have to face the attacks from others, it is easier to be bold when you are doing what is right.

Notice I didn’t say easy, I said easier.

Being bold is tough. Being courageous is tough.

Anybody can burn down a building. Only a handful of people can build one. Choose goals that build rather than destroy.

Anybody can hurt others to make a quick win. Only a handful of people can help many to make a solution for society. Select goals with outcomes that help rather than hurt.

In the long run, these goals are easier to defend because they are simply right.

Boldness is the courage to stand strong even if you stand alone
