Help! I’m stuck and could use your feedback

Posted under Achieve-IT!

You can help me build a better Achieve-IT! program. smile

Currently, I am working on bug fixes and software improvements.  But things get slow over the summer months and tend to put a squeeze on the business side of things.  It makes it tough to program new features and improvements when the electric company comes collecting and money is tight.scared

This year, in an effort to get ahead of the “dog days of summer” I am taking a different approach.  Instead of blindfolding myself and sticking a pin into a list of ideas, I thought there had to be a better way.  So, I decided I’d get your opinions on what would make it a better piece of software and perhaps a better direction for my software business.

What I’ve done is created a small survey you can take in less than 5 minutes.  It uses “survey logic” so it ranges between only 8 to 11 questions.  Your answers will help me figure out what’s right, what’s wrong and what needs improvement.  You’d be doing me a huge favor by taking it. idea

To say thanks, for every 10 people who take the survey, I will give away one copy of Achieve-IT! software to one of the participants (either desktop or Pocket PC - your choice!).  Names will be drawn at random and will receive notification by email.

Brad,

I know you are probably still very busy taken care of things you were able to do while your son was in the hospital. Speaking of whom, hope he is improving speedily.

When you can, I could realy use your thoughts on some of the difficulties I ran into recently. I posted them below “New Version of Achieve-IT! Desktop Release (v.1.3.5.3)”

Regards,
John

I have nailed down one of the bugs already(disappearing buttons). Working on the others.

Hey I appreciate all of the survey respondents! Keep ‘em coming. I am learning a lot.

So far, 3 people have been awarded free copies of Achieve-IT! software. Hoping to award many more.. :)

Hi Brad,

Thank you for the software. I like what I’ve seen and used so far. It installed successfully and seems to run fine. I like the wizards.

One curious thing did appear. I enabled the password protection on Achieve-IT!. When I went to log in, I entered my password, hit shift & tab (I thought I was putting the focus on the Submit button), then I hit the Enter key and got a screen that showed some of my goals.
