Call for beta testers

by Brad Isaac on August 10, 2006

I am looking for 25 people who can help me ‘sanitize’ (i.e. Beta Test) the latest version of Achieve-IT! software. Participants will receive a free copy of the final product upon release.

    Details:

Have you ever been part of a software beta team? Well, here is an opportunity for you to do it again, while gaining much more than just a free copy of the final product. While you’re testing, you can develop a solid plan of action for your major goals and get breakthrough ideas on how to get them done fast. That’s what the software is designed to do, so this is one beta project that could change your life! ;-)

Thanks to your survey responses here on the blog, I found so much room for improvement, I couldn’t do it all by myself in the time I have available. So for the past several months I have been putting together a team of designers and developers who are going to bring Achieve-IT! software to the next level.

So far, the changes are dramatic. You won’t recognize the software when you see it. The current beta group says it’s “amazing.”

But there’s still a lot of work to be done. I need to drill down on every bug, feature and oversite in the program. I want it to be a well-oiled machine where you put goals in and get results out. That is why I am looking for an additional 25 beta testers who will test the new version and provide me feedback.

You get to put the new version through your own tests. Pop in some goals you want to achieve and see the results you get. Test out some of the new features and try and break them. If something breaks or needs improvement, just let me know.

The beta testers who participate will get a free copy of the final version.

    Rules:
Although I’d like everyone to have beta testing experience, it is not required.

If you like to tinker and experiment with software or you love to run the latest and greatest of everything, then this will probably be a good match.

I have a private discussion forum set up so we can all discuss the latest builds and suggestions. As a beta tester, you’d need to commit to participating in the forums.

You will have to agree not to divulge anything about the beta software, trade practices or distribute the betas to anyone.

Update:  Thanks to all the Achieve-IT! readers who responded.  We now have the 25 testers!  And I didn’t have to advertise elsewhere – way to go!

P.S. If you are a registered Achieve-it! desktop user you will get the upgrade to the next release free.  AND you are also entitled to the betas – so just send us an email to the support desk or to me and we’ll get you rolling.

Hi Brad,
first off, its a terribly designed website. I’m sure you could do better than that horrid table based design. and what’s with those tags?

The application interface needs some tuneups too. Looks very 1999ish.

Cheers!

Thanks … I guess..

Did you read the whole post? Especially the part:
‘So far, the changes are dramatic. You wont recognize the software when you see it. ‘?

you are judging to beta version based on the 1.0 screenshots.

The website is being redesigned as part of a different plan – I will save that post for another day.

Hi Brad,

What has happened to the beta forum with all this redesigning?

Thanks,

Rod

Rod, looks like we’re down again on that server :(

Back to work I guess..

Followup: the datacenter where the server is housed is being dos attacked, so they shut everybody down while they could find where the attacks originated. It’s back up now, but a bit slow.
