You probably know this trick already, but having just made a 30 minute phone call for about 50 cents, it just reminds me of how great Skype is. I wanted to talk to my family who are visiting Cipieres, France. If you see them there say ‘hi’. So I pulled up the Skype Phone, dropped a $10 Paypal credit into the account and was making the call in 5 minutes.
The quality was great! The last time I made a call from France to the states it sounded like the US was driving through a tunnel. There was an echo and lots of static. Plus it was like .80 ¢ to a dollar a minute. The Skype connection sounded like we were in the next room from each other. The sound was crisp and clear with no delays.
If you’ve considered trying Skype for this type of calling, stop considering and start trying. You’ll love it.
