Big List Your Goals
Posted under Goals and Goal Setting
Here’s where you can get it all out.
Grab a piece of paper and a pen sit down and write down a list of everything you want out of life. Do you want a particular kind of car? You want a particular type of house? Where do you want to live? Write down everything. Only when you get everything out on paper can you see what you really want out of life.
When you are done with this, you might have 75 or 100 goals on your list. When I finished my very first list many years ago, I had 78 on my list.
Don’t limit yourself to just 3 or 4 items. Try to list everything you want!
Don’t worry about being overwhelmed with the size of the list or how you are going to achieve all of those goals. We’ll cover that later in the series.
But for now, it’s important you list all of your goals.
So go crazy list everything. Nobody is looking so go for it!

I got this idea from another blog sometime ago. I nearly fill up an 8×11 sheet a paper twice day. I’ve even entered some of them into the Achieve IT desktop. Once during my lunchtime and then right before I go to bed. Some of my goals I write down a date - lose 100 lbs by Thanksgiving, etc. Now I just need to motivate myself to act on them.
Leif - So they recommended listing out all your goals twice a day?
Nah, just for a week or so. I write it during my lunch time, because it’s nice reminder to maximize what I can take away from my current job and hopefully apply to getting to my goals. And I’d rather drop my lunch on the paper instead of the library book
[...] Yesterday I mentioned Brad Issac at Achieve-IT! is running a month-long series on Goal Setting and today we’re on Day Two: Start with a Big List . I found this a bit daunting starting with an empty page and personally could have done with a few starter questions but after a few minutes I wrote down a goal I was already working on and they just flew onto the page from there. Not nearly as many as the 75-100 he was talking about so I might go back and have another stab at it later. [...]
